Saving isn’t just savvy—it’s your superpower.

Our Student Savers and Founders Circle initiatives are for students who are the valedictorians of financial finesse, the ones who walk the talk by actually stacking those coins. Every quarter, we celebrate the standouts in the savings scene. These winners earn their spot in the spotlight, with rewards, props, and the ultimate bragging rights as the trailblazers on the wealth journey.

Whether you're setting aside a few dollars from your part-time job or diligently budgeting your monthly allowance, every bit counts. It’s not just about accumulating wealth; it’s about cultivating discipline, foresight, and the confidence to navigate the financial world with grace. Our students are proof that age is no barrier to financial wisdom. As they forge their paths, they inspire peers to embrace the art of saving money, acquiring assets, and building wealth. These students recognize the power of economics in shaping their futures. So, join the ranks of these financial pioneers, and let’s make saving a trend that never goes out of style.

Together, we can create a community where financial security is accessible to all, one coin at a time.

STUDENT SAVERS

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The Honor Roll of Hustle and Savings

Student Savers celebrates the development of savvy financial habits. This program recognizes elementary students through young adults (yes, we see you, too!) who are not only discussing saving but also actively accumulating their coins. Each quarter, we spotlight students making wise financial decisions and enhancing their savings strategies. These exceptional individuals are honored as financial rockstars, forming the honor roll of savings, and demonstrating to their peers how to achieve similar success.

As a recipient of the Student Saver accolade, you will receive either cash or fractional shares to accelerate your journey, while the entire 8 Cents in a Jar community rallies behind you, eager to learn more about your savings goals and wealth journey.

FOUNDERS CIRCLE

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Leaders in Wealth, Ambassadors for Change

If 8 Cents in a Jar had a fan club, this would be it, but we made it official. The Founders Circle is our middle school through high school insider network for the students who wear and live our mission. This all-student-run squad gets invited to exclusive branding sessions, photoshoots, and one-on-one mentoring with our Executive Director herself to fast-track their wealth journey.

As a Founders Circle member, you’re not just representing a brand—you’re representing a movement. You’ll learn how to grow your influence, tell your story, and inspire others to start their own wealth journeys. In return, you become part of our street team—promoting 8 Cents in a Jar programs in your schools, friend groups, and social circles.

A 2017 RAND report found that incarcerated individuals participating in education programs (like financial literacy programs) were 43% less likely to return to prison. They also concluded that these individuals were 13% more likely to find employment after their release. Education not only helps these citizens live a better life following their release, it also gives them a much better chance of staying out of prison. Learn More About Our Jumpstart Financial Literacy Program. We begin working with individuals prior to their release to teach them valuable skills, such as how to open a bank account, create a budget, save money, build credit, and more.
